The Asia Direct Cable (ADC), a major intra-Asia submarine cable system, is now operational, significantly boosting telecommunications infrastructure across the region. Spanning 9,800 kilometers, ADC connects nine countries and territories, including Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, China, and Vietnam. With an impressive capacity of up to 160 Tbps, it offers three times the bandwidth of many existing systems, addressing the growing data demands of the Asia-Pacific.
Developed by a consortium of 19 leading telecom operators, ADC is designed to deliver high-capacity, low-latency connectivity while improving the resilience of regional networks.
Vietnam, represented by Viettel, contributed to the project by hosting a landing station and managing the distribution of international bandwidth. This marks a significant step for Vietnam in positioning itself as a key player in regional digital connectivity and supporting its digital transformation initiatives.
